A Little Something

About Myself

Hello! I’m Mikayla Day, owner of Mikscellaneous Pawsibilities. I originally started this business in 2019, but finally launched out on my own in January of 2022. Being a dog trainer and pet sitter is my profession and passion. I love every second of doing my job. I’m not here just for fun. Throughout my professional career I have cared for a variety of animals from cats and dogs all the way to horses, donkeys, chickens, ducks, goats, guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters, hermit crabs and more. My priority is always animal safety and to help pets thrive. My goal is to not only ensure the overall well-being of dogs but to help provide people with a positive impact through their dogs.

My Specialized Animals

I have a vast understanding and knowledge of the top-of-the-line industry standard care for the following species of animals:

  • Dogs
  • Cats
  • Guinea Pigs
  • Hamsters
  • Hermit Crabs
  • Rabbits

*These are my species of expertise, I have  experience sitting other species and will follow any instructions given*

The Story of How it

All Began

I do not have any memories of animals not having a major impact on my life. Animals have always been present in my life and have been my passion. I was born into a family of small time farmers. Myself and my mom lived elsewhere but we visited my family every weekend. Through this I learned to care for chickens, goats, cows, dogs, cats, rabbits, as well as a little about horses. Once I got my first indoor cat Emmy, everything changed. I became obsessed with animals and knew I would never live without one in my close family. I also had a dog named Lucky. Lucky lived with my dad and was born when I was only 2 years old. When Lucky was 7 she came to live with me and my mom, where she joyfully lived the rest of her life until she was 15 years old. Having a dog in your live from the time you are 2 years old to 17 years old has a huge impact. Lucky is the reason I started this business. Lucky was incredibly well trained by my dad and was a one in a million dog. Every day I use examples of her to help shape the way I teach. After her passing and me becoming an adult, I adopted my first service dog prospect Lady. Together we have been through a variety of training with the guidance of my mentors and we fell in love with training together. She is the little beagle mix featured on the bottom left of this page and she inspires me daily to become a better trainer.

What's With the Name?

I like to think of myself of a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to the animal industry. From educating proper care and diet to pet sitting all types of animals and last but certainly not least, dog training. Animals are my passion and I believe they deserve the best lives we can give them. Dog training is my specialty and unlike most trainers, I am a service dog handler myself. I understand the affects disabilities have on lives and I am in love with the benefits furry companions give. From any type of animal being an emotional booster to a fully tasked trained service dog working in public, or just a pet you want to behave; I'm here for you every step of the way. Mikscellaneous Pawsibilities is my way of saying Miscellaneous Possibilities. As stated above, through my company I provide many different possibilities. My name is Mikayla and my friends sometimes called me Mik (pronounced "Mick"). And of course Paw is an ode to my business type. Put it together and you get Mikscellaneous Pawsibilities.

Pet Owners Have Spoken

The Story of Woodford

The Headlines read: Nearly 600 dogs rescued from TN puppy mill in June 2020. Animal rescue workers say the dogs were living in deplorable conditions. Here is the Story of One Lucky Dog.

Being Rescued

The First Chapter: Woody was rescued in June 2020 and transported to KY where he met his wonderful and caring foster mommy. She cared for him and his medical and emotional needs for nearly 4 months. At the approximate age of 4-5 years old, he had never seen the outdoors and had very little interaction with people. He was thin and malnourished, but his foster mom did all she could to help him through this change in his life.

Finally Home

The Second Chapter: In Oct. 2020 the courts approved the dogs could now be adopted to their forever homes. Woody started his new life with a family in KY that already had an older Dachshund. She taught him how to love and how to be a good house dog. They bonded immediately and became family. Woody worked through many battles of strange things he had never experienced before. With patience and routine he built his Confidence by moving forward one step at a time.

Meeting Mikayla

The Third Chapter (But Certainly not the Last): In October of 2021, His forever mommy decided it was time for another challenge. Training School was a big step, but this is where he thrived and grew the most. Mikayla Day helped change his world once again and helped Woody become confident and overcome his fear of strangers. She understood he was a special needs dog that needed to come around in his own time. She was very observant and saw opportunities to slowly move him to the next level. Little by Little, Woody improved with every class. On the first day he was very shy and timid but after completing beginner and intermediate classes he is becoming a social butterfly. Woody's journey is far from complete, and he is currently in advanced training with Mikayla.

Mikayla may not be able to change the world, but she helped change Woody's world and that makes all the difference in the world. Thank you, Mikayla you are the best ”
